Choose sublimation when the product is qualified for the dye system, its base color supports the artwork, and the finished-blank or printed-panel route fits the product.
Verify whether the sublimation system is direct or paper-transfer and require named test evidence before accepting durability or care claims for either method.

Frequently asked questions

Can DTF and sublimation both print on cotton?

The reviewed Epson sublimation workflow specifies compatible polyester fabrics or polyester-coated products, not untreated cotton. DTF also does not carry a universal fabric list; its film, adhesive, press process, treatment, and product must be qualified together.

Does sublimation always use transfer paper?

No. Epson documents a transfer-paper workflow, while Mimaki documents both transfer-paper printing and direct printing on pretreated polyester followed by heat fixation.

Is sublimation the same as all-over print or cut-and-sew?

No. Sublimation names the decoration process, all-over print describes coverage, and cut-and-sew describes construction. Printful documents sublimation on finished products and on panels assembled afterward, as well as a non-sublimation all-over cotton workflow.
