What is the polymer coating on sublimation tumblers?
A thin polyester-based layer applied to the stainless steel exterior. Sublimation dye bonds into this coating during heat transfer — without it, ink cannot adhere to bare metal.
How does laser engraving work on coated tumblers?
The laser burns through the colored polymer coating to reveal brushed stainless steel underneath. This creates a permanent, tactile, single-color metallic design.
