About Shoes

POD shoes use sublimation to transfer designs onto polyester canvas uppers — the ink bonds into the fabric fibers for durability through regular wear and cleaning. Styles include low-top sneakers, high-tops, and slip-ons, with Allcolor as the primary brand supplying blanks.

The canvas upper is the main printable surface, with some styles also allowing printing on the tongue and heel panel. Soles and rubber components are not printable. Sizing covers US men’s 4–13 and women’s 5.5–12, with kids’ sizes at select suppliers. Year-round wearability makes shoes a consistent seller compared to seasonal sandals.

Questions buyers ask

Why do prints on shoes crack at the toe area?
Shoes flex repeatedly at the toe during walking. Print ink or transfer material can't stretch as much as the canvas upper, causing micro-cracks at high-flex zones.
What parts of a canvas shoe can be sublimation printed?
The polyester canvas upper is the primary print surface. Some styles allow tongue and heel panel printing. Rubber soles, eyelets, and laces cannot be printed.
Do all-over print shoes have seamless designs?
No. Seams, stitching, and eyelets interrupt the design on 3D shoe surfaces. AOP on shoes means maximum coverage, not the unbroken prints possible on flat garments.
Why do POD shoes use polyester canvas instead of cotton?
Sublimation requires synthetic fibers to bond ink into the material. Polyester canvas accepts sublimation; cotton canvas would produce faded, washed-out prints that don't hold.
How does high-top vs low-top affect print area on shoes?
High-tops offer more printable surface on the extended upper panel, allowing taller designs. Low-tops have a smaller canvas but the same width for artwork placement.
How durable are sublimation prints on canvas shoes?
Sublimation bonds ink into polyester fibers rather than sitting on the surface, so prints won't peel or wash off. Flex-point cracking at the toe is the main durability concern.
Can you print on the tongue of POD canvas shoes?
Some canvas shoe styles support tongue printing, but not all. The tongue is a separate panel with its own seams, so the design won't connect seamlessly with the upper print.
