About Jewelry

Laser engraving etches designs directly into metal, creating a recessed mark that catches light differently than the surrounding surface. It works on stainless steel, sterling silver, and selected plated metals when the product is built for engraving.

UV printing applies full-color artwork onto metal or acrylic surfaces for photographic detail and unlimited colors, though it remains a surface print rather than an etched mark. Stainless steel, sterling silver, gold-plated, and rose gold-plated blanks sit in different material tiers. Chain types, clasp styles, and pendant shapes vary by product line.

Questions buyers ask

Laser engraving vs UV printing on jewelry: which lasts longer?
Laser engraving is permanent — it etches into metal and can't wear off. UV printing sits on the surface and may fade or scratch under heavy daily wear.
Can UV printing reproduce photographs on jewelry?
Yes. UV printing supports full CMYK color with photographic detail on metal and acrylic surfaces. Laser engraving is limited to single-tone etched designs.
Stainless steel vs plated jewelry blanks: what's the difference?
Stainless steel is solid metal throughout — durable and hypoallergenic. Plated jewelry has a thin gold or rose gold layer over base metal that can wear through.
Why can't you laser engrave on plated jewelry surfaces?
The laser burns through the thin plating layer and exposes base metal underneath, creating an uneven two-tone look instead of a clean engraved line.
Does laser engraving work on both sides of a pendant?
Most POD jewelry supports single-side engraving only. Double-sided requires repositioning in the laser — availability depends on the specific blank and setup.
What file format works for laser engraving designs?
Vector files (SVG, AI) produce the cleanest engravings. Raster images can work but fine details and thin lines may not engrave cleanly at small jewelry scale.
Can UV-printed jewelry get wet?
Occasional water exposure is fine, but prolonged submersion or harsh chemicals degrade UV prints faster. Laser-engraved pieces have no water concerns.
